”I’ve placed you as a watchman on the wall, I’ve place you there for many GO FORTH and make me known” these words were spoken to Founder/Pastor Idella Larry and she obeyed the call of God on her life to do a mighty work for God’s Kingdom.

In early 1984, Pastor Larry along with her spouse Overseer William Larry Sr. and their family and 6 other individuals were called to work with a vision to build a ministry after God’s own

heart by winning souls to Christ, sharing the love of Jesus, laying hands on the sick, and bringing deliverance to those that were bound:  Ollie and Johnnie Cooks, Eva Patterson, Estella Allen,

Steve and Gladys Upshaw began having bible study and church services in her home.  After much prayer, in September 1984, God gave her and one of the founding members (Ollie Cooks) the name True Love Deliverance Church. After worshipping in her home for several years and with the growth of the membership, the time had come and more space was needed. The search began for a new place of worship.

They acquired on a structure at 1511-17th Street North (Fountain Heights) and on April 19, 1987, we held our 1st worship service in the new sanctuary. God spoke to Pastor Larry  and said, “this place is marked for a purpose,” to be an outreach, a light on top of the hill for the community by sharing the joy and peace of God. Continuing to hear from God and following His mandate for the Kingdom, along with so many other faithful followers and members, the church began to grow as a result of the teaching, ministries began to manifest, souls were saved and the community was reached. It wasn’t long before we outgrew that home and we purchased the adjoining land/property and in the winter of 2005 broke ground for the new edifice. So with the promises of God and faithful members, we continued on with the vision of Pastor Larry. On September 14, 2008, the facility that we now occupy was dedicated to God for the work of the gospel.

Although we have transitioned in many ways and have lost the foot soldiers that helped lay the ground work of this great ministry, we feel blessed by God. He has provided us with a

dedicated Assistant Pastor Horace Whitson (installed on February 12, 2017) along with such marvelous and committed leaders and the resources to continue to carry out the vision of our Pastor and to help with the growth of the Kingdom.
